Sarasota, FL – Jeffrey Koziel has joined industry-leading DSO, Dental Care Alliance, following an impressive tenure with Walgreens, the nation’s leading pharmacy retailer. Most recently, he served as Senior Vice President, Pharmacy and Retail Operations, with responsibility for day-to-day operations supporting Walgreens’s more than 9,300 locations.
“As DCA looks ahead to our fourth decade of creating healthy smiles, I am confident that Jeff has the experience and vision to lead Dental Care Alliance into the next stage of growth,” stated Jerry Rhodes, Chief Executive Officer for DCA. “The demonstrated way in which he cares for the business and its people are distinctively aligned with our mission and values. He has an unbridled passion for healthcare and innovation, and is committed to driving results for the future at DCA.”
Jeff’s remarkable career spans more than 25 years. His journey with the retail pharmacy giant began when he was an intern at his neighborhood Walgreens store, after completing his studies at Midwestern University’s Chicago College of Pharmacy.
After graduating, he enthusiastically took on new responsibilities, moving from intern to staff pharmacist, and then to pharmacy manager. Jeff excelled, and his leaders took notice. They challenged him to leverage his pharmacy management competencies to become the store’s general manager. Not long after, he was promoted from a store to a district manager role, where he effectively grew the footprint and market share throughout the Northeast. He developed and transformed the New York market under the Duane Reade and Walgreens banners, as Vice President.
Over the next several years, he was promoted and asked to return to his hometown of Chicago to assume leadership of the nation’s portfolio of pharmacy and retail operations, with a focus on bringing healthcare to the forefront of retail.
When asked the accomplishment about which he’s most proud, he answers, without hesitation, that it’s his two teenage daughters. His eldest daughter is a sophomore in college in Iowa; and, his youngest a junior in high school in Chicago. They enjoy spending time together and are eager to return to the days of live music and family get-togethers.
“I’m thrilled to join the Dental Care Alliance family,” Jeff shared. “We are undoubtedly in challenging times, but as it goes, I believe it will enable our greatest opportunities. Already, I’ve learned much about the commitment and dedication of DCA’s affiliated practices and the patients and team members that we serve. I sincerely look forward to contributing to and taking this already great organization to the next level.”
