Sarasota, FL – December 11, 2020
Dental Care Alliance has launched a new effort aimed at improving diversity and inclusion throughout the organization. The Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Council will be made up of members across the organization, including affiliated doctors, hygienists, and office and support staff. The council will be led by James Nick, Dental Care Alliance’s Chief Revenue Officer, who will serve as Executive Sponsor and chair for the council.
The Council’s purpose is to promote and encourage diversity within all levels of the company so that we are better suited to drive change and organizational growth.
James shared, “We acknowledge the need not only within our organization but within our communities to promote and progress toward a more diverse, equitable, and inclusive tomorrow. Formalizing this group is directly in line with our core values. We celebrate the differences that make our team members and affiliated practices unique. We learn from the best of each other and grow stronger together. We want all DCA team members, current and future, to feel welcomed and open to sharing their viewpoints for the betterment of the organization and communities we serve.”
As an organization, Dental Care Alliance is 49% non-white and 85% female, but those both decline at senior levels of the organization. Turnover is also slightly higher for under-represented groups. Improving both are key goals for the Council, which begins with three main areas of focus: (1) communication & education, (2) talent development & retention, and (3) talent attraction.
“Ensuring development of under-represented employees and ensuring equal opportunities for them is paramount to future success of our organization,” stated Jeff Koziel, Dental Care Alliance’s President and member of the Council. “We are committed to Unleashing the Potential of our entire workforce.”
