Orthodontic Assistant

Overview

Klar Holmes & Associates is looking for a Orthodontic Assistant for office located in Virginia Beach, VA 23464. The Assistant we hire is required to have at least 1+ years of Orthodontic Assistant experience in Virginia Beach, VA and must be x-ray certified in the state of VA. Must be a team player with a compassionate and professional demeanor; self-motivated and have the ability to thrive in a fast paced environment. We offer a competitive salary, plus benefits!

Hours: Monday – Friday 8am -5pm

Responsibilities

• Clinical Support: Prepare treatment rooms, sterilize instruments, and assist dentists during procedures.
• Patient Care: Welcome, comfort, and educate patients on oral hygiene and post-treatment care.
• Radiography & Diagnostics: Take and develop X-rays, assist with impressions, and maintain study models.
• Compliance & Safety: Ensure infection control protocols, maintain patient confidentiality, and follow workplace regulations..
• Maintain accurate patient records and documentation, including scheduling and patient intake (if needed)
• Helps dentist manage dental and medical emergencies by maintaining CPR certification, emergency drug and oxygen supply, and emergency telephone directory.

Qualifications

Qualifications:

• 1+ years on-the-job-experience in orthodontic practice(with supporting documentation)
• X-Ray certification
• Nitrous Oxide certification is highly recommended
• High school diploma or equivalent

Dental Assistant are also expected to maintain annual OSHA, HIPAA, CPR, and infection control training as required by law.
