Dental Hygiene Assistant

Overview

Konikoff Dental is seeking a Full-Time Dental Assistant in Virginia Beach, VA 23451. The ideal candidate we hire will require a minimum of 1 year of hands-on Dental Assisting experience and to be x-ray certified in the state of VA. Providing exceptional patient care, teamwork, and strong communication skills is a must.

Hours:

Tuesday-Friday 7am-3pm, 1 Saturday a month 8-12.

Responsibilities

The following dental hygiene assisting duties are noted; however, other duties may be assigned:

• Distributes and collects completed documentation from patient including medical history.
• Sets up and breaks down treatment rooms, cleans & sterilizes treatment room.
• Sterilize & maintain equipment & instruments.
• Upholds office policy including HIPAA & OSHA
• Greets and escorts patients into operatories and escorts them out.
• Performs assigned daily, weekly, and monthly cleaning & maintenance duties.
• Reviews medical history and inputs into CPS. Asks initial consult questions from patient, records information and takes intra-oral pictures for doctor. Fills out exam notes as dictated by doctor.
• Ability to take clinically appropriate xrays.
• Obtain and review needed consent for patient treatment.
• Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

• High school diploma or General Education Degree (GED)
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Completion of Dental Assisting Program preferred
• 1 or more years of hands on experience working in dental practice
• Xray certified for the state of VA
